The Institute is managed by a five-member Executive Council functioning under the guidance and directions of a nine-member Board of Directors elected by the members of the Institute. KSI has the advantage of availing non-remunerative services of members of KSI who are in service.The present Board of Directors and their background are given below:

Dr. P S Nair

Qualifications: M.Sc. (Demography), MA (Economics), B.Sc. (Mathematics and Statistics), PhD in Sociology-Demography from Vrije Universiteit, Brussels, Belgium A total of 80 articles were published in refereed International and Indian Journals apart from 3 books and 3 international monographs, numerous reports and working papers. During the teaching and research career, 24 PhD, 10 M.Phil and 41 Masters Dissertations were supervised. Member of 4 international and 4 Indian professional Associations.

Dr. Aleyamma Mathew

Executive Director
Kerala Statistical Institute

Present: Professor & Head of the Cancer Epidemiology & Biostatistics Division of Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Thiruvananthapuram as well as the PhD Co-ordinator of RCC, Thiruvananthapuram.

Past: Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), New Delhi;

Principal Investigator of the Hospital-Based Cancer Registry

(HBCR), RCC and Population-Based Cancer Registry, South Kerala covering a population of nearly10 million.

Received “Cancer Foundation Finland Prize of 5000 Euros” in 2023, for promoting population-based cancer registration and related epidemiological research in India;

Worked as Post-Doctoral scientist in the National Cancer Institute, US;

Scientific Committee expert for the National Cancer Registry Programme of ICMR;

Served as Regional Editor for Asia Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention and as Country representative for Asia Pacific Organization of Cancer Prevention;

Received International fellowships from NCI, USA; IARC, France, Finland, UK, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, The Netherlands and Queens University, Canada;

Research Guide in Epidemiology and Statistics:

Six students (3 in Epidemiology and 3 in Statistics received doctoral degree).

Currently guiding 9 students in Epidemiology/Statistics/ Biostatistics.

Provided Guidance for more than 90 Post-graduate students in Biostatistics for their thesis;
